Labor violations are frequent and widespread in the garment industry. Each week, workers bring wage and hour claims at the Garment Worker Center to collectively put pressure on unscrupulous employers to come down and negotiate at our table. The companies perpetrating these abuses range from small, independent companies, to large, well-known brands. Sweeping reform, like a living wage ordinance, would help protect the thousands of workers in the Los Angeles garment industry.
