Many American born latinos have lost their identity of where their family came from. From first generation american born to fifth, it seems like their cultural identity has lost their interest. Because society has so heavily discriminated against the immigrant community, any form of connection to this community is a reason to forget. There is great discrimination between natural born citizens and un-documented immigrants. Habram Diosdado has experienced that discrimination attacking his job status. Diosdado works in the Pico-Union area at a local pizza restaurant. He commented on his experience that a young, American-born Latino told him the 'immigrants have taken our jobs.' His rebuttal was that he pays taxes just like everyone else to pay for the welfare the young man was on. Many American born Latinos are starting and even choosing to forget the same struggle their parents, grandparents or great-grandparents face not to long ago. They have forgotten, and in a sense lost their identity.
