In VozMob we read reality to write our own history, and strive to make visible the true stories of those who have been excluded, marginalized, and made invisible by the traditional mass media. VozMob appropriates technology to create power in our communities and achieve greater participation in the digital public sphere.
With this vision, we refuse expressions of hatred, or those that discriminate against others based on race/ethnicity, gender, age, class, religion, culture, sexual orientation, physical condition, or other forms of oppression. We will constructively and publicly challenge such expressions because they reinforce oppression, divide us, are personally harmful, and weaken our movements. We also reject any language that degrades and/or that is offensive.
We understand that there are anti-immigrant and racist forces that use hate speech against our communities. We refuse expressions that reproduce the same hate and fear that they try to apply to our communities. Therefore, we will continue reinforcing our vision of unity and keep showing our realities to write our own stories.
Please do not post negative images without placing them within the context of a well researched story. Without placing limits on speech, we ask that if you do post an image that contains violence and/or hatred, it should be contextualized within a complete story so that it is not based on reactions alone, but is constructive. The story should provide another perspective of the negative imagery that is being projected.
We do not accept articles that are propaganda or slogans for elections, political parties, or commercial interests. This does not exclude news or information about activities by political parties.
